EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) files are self-contained PostScript files which contain the same mathematical points as the vector files they are made from. Bitmaps can be saved in the EPS file format, But this does not make them vector graphics. It is the most portable vactor file format, for this reason EPS files are supported by almost all graphics applications.
